Ever found yourself scrolling endlessly through TikTok food videos? Don’t worry, it happens to the best of us. It’s easy to spend way too long drooling at our smartphone staring at delicious-looking food. In fact, we do it so much that it might convince us to try those recipes ourselves.
Even though some crazy TikTok food videos look hard to recreate, a lot of those ingredients can be found in your local Iceland. So let’s break down some of the most popular TikTok food videos with ingredients from Iceland.

Nacho tables

Nachos are incredibly easy to make and there are countless ways to prepare them. Usually, you can make nacho plates for smaller portions, but why not make a huge nacho table instead to serve loads of guests?

All you need to recreate this from Iceland is:

Old El Paso Nacho kit – The basic nacho kit. This comes with crunchy nacho chips and salsa for topping. A single box serves around 3 to 4 people, so you might need a few of them for a big sharing table.

Chunky guacamole – It’s not nachos without guacamole. Make sure you get some chunky guac to spread over the nachos or use as a dip.

Soured cream – Soured cream is another ingredient when making nachos. Drizzle over your nachos and put some on the side as a dip.

Grated cheddar – The last crucial ingredient for your nacho table. Simply sprinkle the grated cheese over and enjoy your nacho table.

This is the basic nacho table. Simply spread the nachos over a table (remember to cover it with foil first to make cleaning up easier) then place a few bowls in the centre to hold your dips. If you want, you can also drizzle the sauces over the nachos, but it might make them soggy if you don’t eat them quickly.

Pancake Cereal

If cereal is too boring these days then how about some pancake cereal? These tiny little pancake pieces are simple to make, they’re great with kids, and you can add all kinds of sauces to make them stand out.

To make the batter, you’re going to need:

Flour
Sugar
Baking powder
Salt
Milk
Egg (beaten)
Vegetable oil

If you’ve made pancakes then you know how this goes! Mix a cup of flour, two tablespoons of sugar, two teaspoons of baking powder and a large pinch of salt in a large bowl. Next, make a small well in the centre for all of your wet ingredients. Place in a cup of milk, a beaten egg and two tablespoons of vegetable oil. Mix until the batter is smooth then place it into a sauce bottle so you can squeeze out little drops of batter onto a hot pan to make pancake cereal!

Don’t worry if you don’t have a sauce bottle. You can also spoon little bits of batter into the pan as well, though it won’t be a perfectly round shape like in the TikTok.

Whipped coffee

Whipped coffee is absolutely amazing. It looks fantastic, it tastes great, and it’s really easy to make. Impress your friends and family members with this really simple whipped coffee.

Here are the ingredients you’ll need:

Good instant coffee – A good-quality instant coffee will add the right amount of bitterness to balance out the sugar.

Sugar – Any granulated sugar will do.

Milk – Any kind of milk works. You can substitute this for soy, oat, rice, or even almond milk.

Ice – You can buy bags of ice to make this more convenient or freeze your own with a mould.

And that’s it. Simply add two tablespoons of hot water, sugar, and instant coffee into a cup. Then whisk until it’s light and fluffy. You can do this by hand, but a milk frother can make it much easier. Just make sure you’re careful since it can make a huge mess if you’re not careful. Next, place some ice and milk into another cup and gently pour the whipped coffee over it. Mix it around a bit but make sure to leave some foam at the top.

Cloud Bread

Cloud bread videos are incredibly satisfying, especially when they tear it open to reveal the soft, fluffy and delicious insides. It’s also incredibly easy to make and can be a great hit with kids if you add a bit of food colouring to make it pretty.

Here are the simple ingredients you’ll need for cloud bread:

Egg whites – The recipe calls for three egg whites. You can easily separate the eggs using the shell just like the video shows.

Cornstarch – Around 10g of corn starch for the cake batter.

White sugar – The recipe calls for 30g but you can adjust this to your preferences by adding a bit less if you don’t like it too sweet.

Food colouring and vanilla – Two optional items that you can add to make your cloud bread a little more interesting.

The recipe is really simple as shown in the video. You add the egg whites to a bowl then whisk until they start forming bubbles. Next, add the cornstarch and sugar and continue mixing for a little longer until it forms stiff peaks. Transfer to a baking tray with a baking sheet and then bake for 25 minutes at 300°F which is basically gas mark 2. And there you have it–a delicious cloud bread that is super simple to make and really satisfying to eat!

Oreo Mug Cake

Mug cakes aren’t exactly new, but what if we told you that this oreo mug cake only takes two ingredients? This delicious and indulgent snack is amazing on its own, but you can spice it up with extras if you want and turn it into a full desert.

Here’s what you’ll need for this:

Oreos – You can’t make an oreo cake without Oreos. Any kind of oreo will do but we suggest the original vanilla ones.

Milk – Any kind of milk will do for this. Non-dairy milk can also work.

And that’s it! Simply fill up your mug with Oreos then add milk till it’s half full. Next, grab a fork and mash everything together until you have a batter-like consistency. If you’re making multiple oreo mug cakes you can do this in a larger bowl then spoon it into different mugs. If you want a wider mug cake, use a slightly bigger cup. Lastly, place it into your microwave and set it on full power for a minute. Now your oreo mug cake is done!
