A seasoned risk professional, Desmond has an excellent track record of achievement spanning three decades, which he gained with leading financial services firms. Having previously served at Barclaycard, Desmond was primarily involved with risk functions including Financial Risk (retail, wholesale, and market risk) as well as credit and fraud risk, before leaving after nearly a decade as Chief Risk Officer.

Desmond has occupied several senior positions in trusted establishments, ranging from treasury at Kleinwort Benson, Barclays, and Deutsche Bank, to Managing Director of Dresdner Bank and Chief Risk Officer of Distribution Finance Capital. He is trained as an actuary having completed his Bachelor of Science in Applied Math at the University of Warwick.
